There are many branches, with various spellings, on the Mosimann family tree . It is the hope and goal of this project to test enough persons from the different branches to be able to find patterns which will aid in tracing lines back to the beginnings in the Emmental Valley of Canton Bern, Switzerland. SNP testing can be used in addition to STR testing to find closely related families who share common ancestry shortly before surnames were firmly established in Switzerland around 1500 AD.
