About us
We will be exploring both the ancient and more recent migration pathways of those ancestors who are not only 16235G + 16291T alone but also those who have additional markers i.e., 16293G and 16400T.
Members are encouraged to find distant cousins and to connect through their family pedigrees.
We have discovered many new subclades (branches) along the way thanks to mutations in common among our newest members. Our goal is to eventually locate the geographical region where each SNP (single nucleotide polymorphism) marker appeared.
This is one of the few projects where maternal most recent common ancestors (MRCAs) were discovered among distant cousins within a genealogical timeframe.

This DNA Interest Group is not limited to those with full mitochondrial sequences. However, an upgrade to coding regions is encouraged if you tested many years ago.
We have always predicted that H2a2b was a major branch that differed from H2a2a and we were correct. Therefore, we need to remove any of you who have the H2a2a designation because you would not be closely related. Please make sure there is a "b" after the second "2".
