If anyone can prove their ancestor to David McCarroll born about 1803 in Virginia, died 18 March 1891 in Grayson County, Virginia, there is a 37 marker Y-DNA test kit that has been donated for your use.

David McCarroll married Hannah Greer about 1823 and they had the following children: Elizabeth McCarroll born about 1824, Evan Rice McCarroll born 16 September 1826, Mandana McCarroll born 2 June 1828, John McCarroll born about 1830, and Sarah Susannah McCarroll born 9 March 1840. All children were born in Grayson County, Virginia.

Only direct line male descendants of David's sons, Evan and John, will carry the McCarroll Y-chromosome DNA. Please email dmoneta@cox.net, if you wish to take part in this test.

Evan Rice McCarroll had the following sons:
David James McCarroll, born 30 March 1861 in Ashe County, North Carolina and died 30 July 1934 in Madison County, Nebraska.
William Wade McCarroll born 28 May 1865 in North Carolina and died 3 December1946 in Ashe County, North Carolina.

John McCarroll had the following sons:

Robert Lee McCarroll born about 1869
