* Results so far have established that there are at least two different Mark families originating in Cumberland.
* 6 members appear have a common ancestor in Cumberland c1525
* 2 more members have a different common ancestor to the above 6 in Cumberland c1625
* 1 member has traced his Mark-Bell ancestry back to Carlisle,England c1850
* 1 member has Mark ancestry from Lithuania
* 1 member from Canada has origins in Norfolk, England
* there are small number of unassigned members with different surnames.
We seek new members with interests in Mark or Marke especially those with ancestors in different parts of the UK and the world so we can find out if they too are related.
As more people participate all members will gain from the study.
