Our project currently includes members in three Y-DNA haplogroups: M223, M253, and M269.

• Henry Luce’s signature (M223):
  Twenty participants with documented descent from Henry all share a consistent Y-DNA signature in haplogroup M223. This gives us high confidence in identifying Henry’s male-line genetic profile.

• Luce–Lewis connections:
  Three members with the surnames Luce and Lewis—who are not known descendants of Henry—also match the Henry profile, suggesting a possible connection worth further study.

• Other origins:
  Two Luce members fall into haplogroup M269, indicating at least one independent Luce line unrelated to Henry.

These findings show that while many Luces in North America descend from Henry, there are likely multiple origins for the surname.
