Haplogroups
Below are some of the Haplogroups identified:
-
R1b1 - Halpogroup Rib1 is the most common Haplogroup in European populations. It is believed to have expanded throughout Europe as humans re-colonized after the last glacial maximum, 10 to 12 thousand years ago. This lineage is also the Haplogroup containing the Atlantic modal haplotype.

Genetic Distance Chart - The following link shows a chart to help you understand how each test kit impacts your search for the percent chance of a common ancestor within "x" generations. This chart was developed by a co-administrators in a Grant DNA Project, but applies to any surname project.. It has been reviewed by FTDNA. It provides a general overview of genetic distance. Click on: Genetic Distance Chart
Note: If you view the Colorized Y-DNA Results, you will notice three rows of values -- Min, Max & Mode. The Mode value is used to determine the variance for each kit markers. The "red" Alleles (markers) are considered rapid mutating values, suggesting that these values have changed over centuries at a more rapid rate than all the other markers. To some extend, those genetic distance markers can be discounted. I would encourage you to review the tutorial for a greater understanding.
