Dear All, I am the new administrator of the Lavin Project, although I am Spanish I am interested and delighted to collaborate in this Project since my wife's last name is Lavin. I am aware that there are Lavin surnames originating in Ireland and Spain and spread throughout the American continent, in the north with origins in Ireland and in some cases Spain, and in Latin America mainly with origins in Spain. There are surnames very close to both Lavin Irish and Spanish, Callahan and Larven with Irish origin and Acebo and Menezo with Spanish origin could have the same origin as Lavin. The optimal haplogroups for this Project are J-M172, R-P312 > DF27, R-M198 > Z93. In the case of mitochondrial DNA, all haplogroups of Irish or Spanish people are welcome.
