Instructions forsending BAM files to YFull:

1. Go to yourFTDNA Dashboard and click on the "Results" button in the Big Ysection.

2. Look at theblue buttons at the top right of the "Results" page. If you see abutton that says "Download Raw Data," skip down to step 4 . If yousee a button that says something like "Purchase BAM File", continueto step 3.

3. Click on thepurchase BAM file button and submit your payment information. The cost will be$100. This is required for anyone who did a NEW Big Y-700 test after November2, 2019, not an upgrade from Big Y-500. Updates from STR tests, such as Y111,are considered new Big Y-700 tests. Wait a day or two after you submit your BAMfile order, then continue with step 4. You should now see a "Download RawData" button.

4. Click on the"Download Raw Data" button. A new window will open up with some greenbuttons at the bottom. One of them should say "Share BAM." This isbutton you will use to get a link to your BAM to provide to YFull. You do notneed to download the BAM file. It shouldn't happen, but I guess there's achance you may see a Generate BAM button instead. Click on it and then go backin the day or two and you should see a "Share BAM" button.

5. When you clickon the "Share BAM" button a box will open up with a very long link init, next to which you'll see a green button that says "Copy Link"Click on the "Copy Link" button to copy the link to your clipboard.

6. If you are aNEW YFull customer, do the following:

......a. Go to theYFull order page: https://yfull.com/order/

......b. Enteryour email address & username (your choice) in the designated fields

......c. Select"BAM" in the NextGen Seq raw data file type" area

......d. Select"FTDNA Big Y in the Testing Company section

......e. Paste thelink you copied at FTDNA into the URL box in the "Link to a raw data file(.BAM)" area

......f. Click onthe box next to "I'm not a robot"

......g. Click onthe box surrounded in red next to "I agree...."

......h. Finally,click on the "Order Now" button

7. If youpreviously sent a Big Y BAM file to YFull, do the following:

......a. Log intoyour YFull account

......b. On yourYFull homepage, click on the yellow "My orders" button at the topright of the screen

......c. At thetop right corner of the orange bar, you'll see an "Order Now! button.Click on it.

......d. Youremail address will already be in the Email field. Put you current YFull username in the Username field

......e. Make sureBAM is selected in the NextGen Seq raw data file type" area

......f. Select"FTDNA Big Y in the Testing Company section

......g. Paste thelink you copied at FTDNA into the URL box in the "Link to a raw data file(.BAM)" area

......h.IMPORTANT: Type the following in the "COMMENTS" box: "This is anew sample for YFxxxxx" YFxxxx being the sample ID for your current sampleat YFull. IMPORTANT - Do not skip this step or YFull will not know that the newBAM file comes from the same person as the original BAM file you submitted.

......i. Click onthe box next to "I'm not a robot"

......j. Click onthe box surrounded in red next to "I agree...."

......k. Finally,click on the "Order Now" button After clicking the "Order Now"button you should receive an email from YFull indicating that your order wasreceived at that your BAM file will be downloaded and verified. After a whileyou should get a second email indicating that the BAM file download wassuccessful; it will also include the YFxxxxx sample ID for your sample and apassword for your account. You will use this password and your email address asthe credentials for logging into your account.

If you previously sent a Big Y-700 VCF file to YFull, you can send a BAM file for a FREE upgrade(you may need to purchase your BAM file before sending it):

1. Go to your FTDNA Dashboard and click on the "Results" button in the Big Y section.

2. Click on the"Download Raw Data" button. A new window will open up with some green buttons at the bottom. One of them should say "Share BAM." This is button you will use to get a link to your BAM to provide to YFull. You do not need to download the BAM file. It shouldn't happen, but I guess there's achance you may see a Generate BAM button instead. Click on it and then go back in the day or two and you should see a "Share BAM" button.

3. Click on the"Share BAM" button; a box will open up with a very long link in it,next to which you'll see a green button that says "Copy Link" Clickon the "Copy Link" button to copy the link to your clipboard.

4. Log into your YFull account

5. On your YFull homepage, click on the yellow "My orders" button at the top right of the screen

6. At the end of the line for the sample based on your Big Y VCF file you'll see an"Upgrade" button.

7. Click on the upgrade button and complete the form that comes up. There will be a box where you paste the long for your BAM file.

8. Once the form is complete, a button at the bottom will light up and say Submit or something similar. Click on it and you're good to go. You should receive message soon indicating that your BAM file will be downloaded and verified.
