About us

The goals of this project is to connect the lineages of the people in each region to one another and to attempt to connect the people between the regions to one another.

So far, we have had limited success. We have connected three participants of the Southern Group as being related to one another through various daughters of the same Willis family in Hancock, Houston and Chattahoochee Counties, Georgia. From that family we have extended the lineage back through Rutherford and Caswell Counties, North Carolina to the unidentified wife of Townsend Horton who (he) was born in 1740 in Stafford County, Virginia. Efforts at identifying this brick wall ancestor are under way. It is possible either she or one of her close maternal ancestors came to Virginia or North Carolina from New England as a Quaker or other migrant.

Also, we have connected two of the New England group to one another as sisters of the same Goff parents. Several of our project members' New England families included Quakers living in New England and who possibly migrated South.

So far, I, as administrator, have not done any research on the lineages of those with European or Scandinavian ancestral roots.
But, theoretically, they should somehow match one another and somehow also match those of New England and the South.
