About us
The Jaklin family arrived in Horcschikowitz, Bohemia before 1599. Around that time the Catholic Church in Chotieschau was advertising in Germany for residents to come to the area of Bohemia to settle. It is possible that the Jaklin family saw these ads and migrated to live and farm there. Descendants of this family stayed in the area until after World War II, when residents of German ancestry were removed from the country and many went to Germany. Some Jaklin family members immigrated to the United States in the mid 19th century and changed the spelling of the name to Yaklin. Some Jaklin descendants who immigrated to the United States later, and did not change the spelling and continued to spell the name Jaklin.
