About us

Members of J2, with DYS455 = 8 which is a deletion event of three repeats, whatever their surnames, are the focus of this study. Also if you have the SNP L283 as positive.. This is a haplogroup project, rather than one based on a surname. If you are J2 and have either DYS455 or DYS454 value of 8 repeats, or if you match at least 23/25 or 33/37 at FTDNA or on Y-search with another J2 who has an deletions on DYS455 copy, you can help us determine its significance. Our goal is to learn about persons with this value. The administrator is collecting the paternal lines of the members in order to find matches. If you were originally tested at FTDNA, you can join by using the join button on your personal page. For kits ordered after Dec. 2014: To get the most informative grouping, please go to Privacy Setting "Who can view my DNA results in group projects?" change this to "Anyone" for public comparison. This pre-setting was introduced by FTDNA since late 2014 (approx. kit #370000 and higher). If you tested with another firm, send your Y-search surname and reference number to the administrator to be added manually. If not in Y-search, send your STRs value to be added manually.
