About us
This project explores the genetic heritage of families originating from the Isernia province in Molise, Italy. It welcomes participants with autosomal, Y-DNA, or mtDNA test results who have ancestral ties to one or more of the 52 comuni in Isernia.
The project’s goals include:
• Tracing ancestral lineages specific to the Isernia region
• Identifying migration patterns and genetic continuity across generations
• Supporting genealogical research for descendants of Isernia emigrants worldwide
Participants from other testing platforms (such as AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, or 23andMe) are encouraged to transfer their raw data to FamilyTreeDNA to benefit from comparative analysis. Instructions for uploading are available on the FTDNA website.
