The project includes men with the S2097 mutation or reliably predicted to be S2097+. Persons unsure of their I1 category should join instead the I1 yDNA Haplogroup Project. The administrator there can help transfer you to the correct I1 project if your correct category is determined. The I1>S2097+ Project uses a combination of STR haplotypes and SNPs to group results. Kits that have provided the Admins with at least Limited Access will be grouped. The group names may include recommendations for additional testing. If your 37 or 67 or more marker values are different from men already in the project by 5 or less, you are reliably within S2097. Twelve markers are not reliable for this. The major subgroups of S2097 are based on men sharing one of the FCG29230 or BY13514 mutations. We also welcome representatives of S2097 males who are deceased, unavailable or otherwise unable to join, including females as their representatives and custodians of their Y-DNA. The primary goal of the project is to identify new subgroups within haplogroup I1>S2097 which will provide better focus to the migration history of our haplogroup I1>S2097 ancestors.
