About us
This Project is focused on Y-DNA descendants of Thomas White b. abt. 1490 in Marriott, Somerset, England (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/White-433). Current Y-DNA testing suggests Haplo-group I-FT410059 approximates this man. Documented genealogy establishes the immigrant John White d. Abt. 1673 as one of the earliest of the White surnamed descendants in the New England region by 1638 eventually settling in Lancaster, MA. Y-DNA research suggest descendants of another branch if this family were among the fist settlers in colonial Virginia in the early 1600s becoming early leaders/founders of the Quaker movement in Virginia/North Carolina in the late 1600s. Finally, geographical proximity and early research suggests another branch of this line may have been Adventurer/Merchants in Bristol, England in the early 1600s and were instrumental in providing settlement/trade to the early Virginia Colony as possible Merchants in early Jamestowne. The primarily goal of this Project is finding documented descendants of Thomas White b. abt. 1490 to continue validating and documenting these claims.
