I’m Karen Allman, and I work on the family genealogy for myself, and for my son’s paternal relatives.  This project will be dedicated to sharing on going research in to the family, and to continue growing our tree by working with DNA cousins.

In our case, the Heard Family are the ancestors and descendants of Joe Heard (1907 – 1979) and Ruth Lucille Whitaker (1908 – 1979) of Chambers County, Alabama.

I’m also looking forward to sharing some of our successes.  Over on Ruth’s side we have her grandfather Major Bailey’s 1867 Chambers County Voter Registration Record.  Her great grandfather Jeff Burton was a registered voter that year as well.  And it knocked my socks off when I found the research that tells us the history of her great great grandfather Harry Burton with records that show he was born in 1794.  But I’m getting ahead of myself here.  There are lots of stories to tell, and lots of mysteries yet to be solved.
