GOALS

The Grindle Surname project originated in late 2010 with three male participants taking a Y-DNA test. The project has since expanded to include mtDNA and atDNA (FamilyFinder) test results.

This project seeks to help expand genealogical research utilizing specific DNA testing to prove or disprove genetic connections among Early GRINDLE Immigrants to America by -

1 –Defining GRINDLE lines that immigrated to America between 1600-1800

2 – Seeking the MRCA (Most Recent Common Ancestor)

3 –Determining home country of origin, and

4 – Encouraging the sharing of findings with project participants, thus assisting one another in discovering their personal ancestry.

We encourage those who have, or believe they have, ancestors from 1) the Daniel Grindle line of New Hampshire and Maine, 2) John Grindle line of Pennsylvania, 3) Jacob Grindle line of Pennsylvania, 4) Henry Grindle line of Pennsylvania, 5) John Grindall line of Maryland or South Carolina, or any other early Grindle immigrant line to join the project.  Additionally, the project welcomes all lines of the Grindle family surname worldwide, thereby discovering new cousins and family origins.

Men or women who share the surname GRINDLE, or any variant spelling thereof, are welcome to join this project.
