This is a YDNA project at the moment although MTDNA members are also welcome to establish the female line in this area. This project has been set up to assist and identify family clusters who worked and come from the Gloucester and Severn Estuary area over the past five hundred years or more. Many of these families can be identified in the Visitations for Gloucester, Somerset, Monmouth and the surrounding areas. It would be useful to classify the earliest family surname and the town, village or area in which they lived and worked. From this I anticipate Y-DNA clusters should also emerge that can be associated with these families.
