About us
Surname DNA testing (Y DNA test) is the only tool available to genealogists that can identify with great precision those men who share a recent common male ancestor. These tests help researchers verify their paternal ancestry (father's father) in a quick and easy way. It saves time, prevents mistakes, and provides invaluable data that can be obtained in no other way. In the Classic Chart under the 'DNA RESULTS' tab we have tried to group the members by their earliest (known) male ancestor line. See the 'Results' tab for the group information breakdown.

1. Help researchers on common or related families work together to find their common heritage. In order to do that it is important that you edit several fields under your 'myPROJECTS >Manage myProjects' tab on your "HOME' screen. First under the 'PROJECT PREFERENCES' turn the 'opt in to sharing' botton on Then under 'PRIVACY & SHARING' turn the 'opt in to matching' button on Then under 'GENEALOGY> Earliest Known Ancestors' fill in the information on the ancestors that you actually have confirmed to be your earliest paternal & maternal ancestors. Remember that sharing your information with others is a key to identifying the common heritage.
2. Identify the Y-DNA of the ancestor families and compile them into distinct genetic lineages through DNA matches. Once groups are identified, it makes further research much easier because it immediately rules out many people with the same family surname that do not share a common ancestor with you.
