About the G-L640 Y-DNA Project

Prospective members of the G-L640 Project are encouraged to first join the G-CTS342 Y-DNA Project

The G-CTS342 Y-DNA Project mentioned above is engaged in important science to identify the migratory history of our branch of mankind through the ages. As their research needs as much participation as possible, the administrators here at the G-L640 Project would feel remorse if our project interfered with their goals.

Whereas the aim of the G-CTS342 Project is more anthropological in nature, the G-L640 Project here is focused on answering particular genealogical questions of interest to our participants.  The G-L640 branch of men is believed to have its origins in the middle ages around the year 1200CE (give or take 200 years).

The G-L640 Project was created in 2023 by a pair of family history researchers who are working to identify their common male ancestor. We suspect other related men face similar difficulty tracing their male ancestry and are invited to join us.
