There are three main elements of this project. 1. A Y-DNA project for Fitzpatrick and related surnames, such as Patrick and Kirkpatrick. We aim to connect Fitzpatricks with their close relatives and determine the location of the major Fitzpatrick homelands in Ireland. 2. A Y-DNA deeper origins project, which aims to discover the pre-surname roots of our major Fitzpatrick groups and their ancient clan connections. 3. An autosomal DNA project for discovering maternal and paternal Fitzpatrick connections.
