About us
It is generally thought that most Finchers in America are related but the proof is either lost, destroyed or just plain never existed.
Project Goals:
The Fincher DNA Project has 3 major goals:
1. To determine whether or not kinship exists among the various Fincher lines which lack documentation beyond a certain point.
2. To establish whether or not a direct lineage may be traced to Francis Fincher, who immigrated from England to America in 1682.
3. To reveal a relationship with Finchers outside the United States.
Project Results:
The DNA evidence has so far confirmed kinship of participants with a documented relationship. It has also revealed kinship among several branches of Finchers for whom kinship was suspected but undocumented. In addition it has confirmed kinship with a documented descendant of Francis Fincher the immigrant.
