About us
The New Few DNA Research Project: Mapping the Few Lineage From The American Colonies Back to the European Soils of Our Beginnings. About Our Mission:
Welcome to the modern home of the Few Surname DNA Project. We are moving beyond old dataset roadblocks and taking a proactive, multi-database approach to restoring our family narrative. If you carry the Few (or Fiew) surname, or if you have a known Few ancestor in your family tree, you belong here! Our mission is to use advanced genetic genealogy to bridge our colonial anchors—including the lines of William and Benjamin Few, as well as the maternal lineages that bound these families together—directly back to their deep European roots.
Who Can Join?
Autosomal Testers Welcome: Have you tested with AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, 23andMe, or FamilyTreeDNA? We want to map all matching segments.
Direct Paternal Lines: If you are a direct male-line Few descendants, your Y-DNA is vital, and we want to help you maximize your results.
Maternal Lineage (mtDNA) Testers: Tracking the mothers, grandmothers, and wives of the Few lines? Whether you are male or female, your mitochondrial DNA helps us reconstruct the unbroken maternal branches.
Data-Sharers & Brick-Wall Breakers: We can also utilize modern tools like GEDmatch triangulation and segment mapping to bypass standard cousin filters.
How to Collaborate:
Join us, post your earliest known Few ancestors and their geographic migration path, and let’s map the micro-segments that the automated algorithms miss. No radio silence here—let's trace our way back home together!
