The purpose of the Emerick yDNA Project is to identify the genetic lines of the various Emerick families in North America, and to hopefully be able to connect them to the descendants of their cousins who remained in Western Europe. In this way we hope to correct any errors in the published pedigrees.

Once the genetic lines have been established, we hope to build a sufficient database, so that in the future we will be able to tell a project participant which line is his family, without benefit of a paper pedigree
