The Emerick DNA project is intended to establish the genetic pedigree of those families with some version of the Emerick surname, i.e., Emmerick, Emerich, Emmerich, Emrich, Emmerich, and those descendants of Johann Georg Emerick of Cherster County, Pennsylvania who now bear the Emery surname . If your surname is one of the various spellings of Emerick, no matter when your ancestors came to North America, please feel free to become a member of the project. As an added benefit, in addition to the line of descent, the test may be able to identify the geographical point of origin of the original immigrant. Three tests are available, for 12, 25, 37 or 67 markers. The 67 maker test is the most conclusive, but it is also the most expensive. However, if you select a test with fewer markers, and work up to 67, the total cost will be more expensive than if you do the 67 marker test in the first place.
