WINTER 2015 --
DUNSWORTH kit 230012 received results for the advanced SNP test called BIGY. Results show that the DUNGWORTH/DUNSWORTH line shares very early, pre-surname ancestors with kits that have documented ancestors in a specific area of Germany. Please see the RESULTS PAGE for more details.
SEPT 2012 --
It is now official after testing three Dungworth men in England - the CHARLES DUNSWORTH family of the United States - and the RICHARD DUNGWORTH family of Dungworth, Sheffield, South York, England are closely related. No doubt what so ever! Cheers to us all and many thanks to the men in England and the USA who participated in the DNA tests.
AUG 2012 --
DUNGWORTH kit 91286 has tested positive for SNP Z326. We are still waiting for the complete 67 marker results.
JULY 2012 --
* Two Y-DNA kits for descendants of the Dungworth family in have arrived at FTDNA for testing in June. On July 20 we received results for the first 12 markers. These two Dungworth kits are an exact 12 marker match to the two Dunsworth kits. This is promising, but we have to wait for results from more markers to declare them a match. The haplogroup for the Dunsworth family is U106 Z10 Z326. Z326 is the terminal SNP and that has just been ordered for one of the Dungworth kits. A positive result for Z326 will be further confirmation of a match.
* A third kit has been shipped to another Dungworth in England. It will be September or October for those results. This third man is a more distant cousin of the first two men.
* July 24 - we now have the 37 marker results for DUNGWORTH kit 91286. These results are very promising. The only markers where we have a mismatch for the two DUNSWORTH kits and DUNGWORTH 91286 are STR markers DYS458 and CDY. DUNGWORTH 91286 is a genetic distance "GD" of 1/37 to DUNSWORTH 230012 and a GD of 2/37 to DUNSWORTH 155923.
* July 25 - We have ordered testing of SNP Z326 for DUNGWORTH kit 91286. The result is due mid Sept. but I expect it some time in Aug. By that time we will also have the 67 marker result for this kit and hopefully have the confirmation of a NULL result at STR 425.
We also have the results for DUNGWORTH kit 236924, 1st cousin of DUNGWORTH 91286. They are an exact 37 marker match.
2012
A second descendant of Charles Dunsworth was tested and he is a match to the first Dunsworth testee. This is very good news and confirms the haplotype of the Charles Dungworth family in the . On April 20, 2012 both of those kits upgraded from 37 to 67 markers. The first kit is also involved in advanced SNP testing to determine the precise position of this family on the haplogroup tree within R1b U106. You can view the SNPs tested by clicking on SNP under the Y-DNA RESULTS tab.

A grassroots group has formed in Hatboro comprised of residents who feel the borough’s charm and history are being uprooted to make way for commercial properties.
Wawa wants to buy both lots on either side of from the bank that owns them, but only demolish the mill home across from the inn that houses a spa operation as well as an old home behind that.
The two structures are believed to be the oldest standing structures in Hatboro and were built by Emmanuel Dungworth and his family around 1720.

Emmanuel Dungworth must have thought himself blessed when, in 1715, he chose the bank of the Pennypack Creek for his gristmill and millwright's house in the village known as the Billet. There, along an Indian trail, were water to power the mill and patrons to buy the flour. Local lore has it that George Washington stopped by to purchase grain for his militia in 1777.
For nearly three centuries, the sturdy stone and wood buildings at Horsham and York Roads in what is now Hatboro have stood as a tangible link to the past.
But the link may soon be gone.
Wawa Inc. wants to raze the millwright's house and another building next door to build a supersize convenience store and gas station. Only the grist mill would be spared, as a donation to the community.
The project has hit a nerve in usually placid Hatboro, spawning a new 250-member residents'group dead-set against it.
MAY 2012 --

* Through contacts in England , three direct descendants of Richard Dungworth bc 1630-40 have been located and graciously agreed to participate in Y-DNA testing.
MARCH 2007 --
The DUNSWORTH-DUNGWORTH DNA PROJECT began on March 6, 2007 and finally tested a descendant of Charles Dunsworth during the summer of 2009.
