About us
UPDATE
1. The Duggan Project has a new admin, after being without one for several years. Patience please, as we find our way!
2. For those who are already active participants with 'kits' in the project, please contact the admin and provide your full line (from the kit-donor to the last known male-line ancestor). This will help us sort the kits into more usable groups for you.
3. IF you have done an autosomal test as well, contact the admin with information on where that test is located, and under what username. Hopefully, this Y-DNA group can also benefit from a side autosomal study to help the two inform one another!
4. If anyone has similar surnames that should be included in our searchable list (other than those named above) advise the admin.
5. IF anyone in this group has expertise in Y-DNA study and would be willing to assist this group, please advise the admin!
6. IF you took a low level Y-test, but would like a more definitive placement - or if you know where you fit but are able to help us develop more advanced/specific Y-DNA haplogroup specs for each Duggan line, please consider upgrading your Y-test. The current sale (through 4-25-22) includes $70 off for the Big-Y. I don't recall ever seeing the cost this low, so snap it up if you have considered testing or upgrading, but haven't done so yet!
The Duggan group has been opened to anyone with an interest in the Duggan surname. You must be a direct male-line Duggan descendant (or suspect that you are) to contribute a kit to the group, but all Duggan descendants - or those with an interest in the family - are welcome. ANY Duggan descendant can look for shared segments through autosomal DNA, so do chime in about your family finder, ancestry, my heritage, 23andME or other autosomal DNA testing. We can coordinate member exchange of information and identify shared autosomal segments between these groups.
