The Drew DNA Project is for all who wish to work together to find their common Drew heritage through DNA testing and sharing of information. All variant spellings are welcome. If your Surname spelling is missing, we'll be glad to add it.
The Drew project focuses on Drew's in America, but has members and some links in England, Ireland, and Australia. Drew is a common name today in New Hampshire, and in Devonshire and the southwest of England. There are some Drew lines from Ireland, some of which are traced back to soldiers from Devon who settled and married in Ireland.
The lines that are best known are:
o - William Drew of NH, born in Devonshire, England.
o - Gilbert Drew of NY and John Drew of Redding, whom DNA indicates were brothers or 1st cousins;
o - Descendents of Elizabeth Loyd of NC and KY (m. Clendenin, the Drew
