About us
Feb 18, 2009 This is the starting date of our Doble Surname Project. I am hopeful that this project with be of assistance to our fellow Doble researchers. My best wishes and Good Luck to you all. So far, we have only two members that match. Sep 2009. We now have one more project member's test results. With the first two members, we found a mutation at DYS456-15 that shows a common ancestor at Thomas Doble b 1834. With the addition of 1 more person's results, we now know that all three have a common ancestor at Thomas Doble b 1681. This takes us back two more generations! That mutation is CDYb-39. One of the three members has had their CDYb-39, mutate again so it is now CDYb-40 for that one person. An Excel pedigree chart is available for any of you who are interested. Please e-mail Karen for charts of the test results. June 2010 Thanks to a recent sale, we now have three new members. One lives in China, one in Alaska, and one in the U.S. How's that for variety? The latter two are of the Boston Dobles, and I'm really hoping that we have a match there with all of the others. July 2020 Some of the test results are starting to come in for the Boston Dobles. It's a bit of a shock to discover that they are not related to the Devon Dobles at all! They are in a completely different Haplogroup (E1b1b1) This group of people apparently migrated to North Africa around 20,000 years ago. From there, some of them travelled further and spread out around the Mediterranean. So was their ancestor Captain John Doble an Englishman or a Spaniard?
