One presumed and one confirmed descendant of Johann Gerhard Dinges (c.1674-1743) of Daimbacherhof in the Electoral Palatinate have been identified as haplogroup I-BY94239 downstream from the previously identified I-BY583 which originated c. 500 BC. I-BY583 is a branch I-L1237 which originated c. 1000 BC and is commonly associated with the Wielbark culture and later the Goths. In 2017, three individuals at a Wielbark burial site were identified as I-L1237. I-L1237 is branch of I-Z63 which originated in Scandinavia c. 2500 BC.
