The Dinges DNA Project aims to determine the genetic connection between the various Dinges lineages in the Americas and Europe. The surname Dinges, Dönges, Dünges and similar variants beginning with 'T' and 'Th' originated in what is now the German states of Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate as a patronymic based on a nickname for Antonius. It was sometimes anglicized to Dennis, Denius, and other variants. Since this is a surname project, we are primarily focused on Y-DNA testing, but you are free to join even if you have not yet or do not intend to do so as autosomal results can be of use.
