Welcome to those researching the DEAN surname. The purpose of this

project is to facilitate placing orders for Y-DNA test kits to be used by

males surnamed Dean and to coordinate the results from those tests. Using

these results may enable us to reinforce or disprove theories regarding our

male DEAN ancestors. We also hope to build a Y-DNA database which will

enable us to identify various DEAN ancestral lines.

    To view the Y-DNA results display, on the home page click on YDNA results, then

click on either "classic" or "colorized."

        If you have done a YDNA test at Family Tree DNA and joined the Dean surname

project but your test results are not displayed on the YDNA classic or colorized pages

it is probably because you have not checked the option to display your results.  To change

this, go to your personal data page, hover over your name in the upper right corner of the

page, on the drop-down menu click on Privacy and Sharing, on the Privacy and Sharing

page scroll down to Group project Sharing, scroll down to "Allow my Group Administrators

to publish my DNA results ..." and click on the little square at the end of the line which will

put a check mark in that square.  Your YDNA results should now be displayed on the classic

and colorized pages.
