About us

Project Goals:

1.  Assemble Darling / Benson / Dailey kits with close genetic distance matches.

2.  Collect individual family trees that have been researched with traditional genealogy methods.

3.  Create a STR, SNP tree with SAPP (Still Another Phylogeny Program) and overlay it with the traditionally researched family trees.

4.  When enough branches have been identified with STR and traditional research methods, begin to work on SNP testing the individual branches to identify private SNPs to the Darling lines.

5.  SNP Testing:  Have two Darlings SNP tested for each of the five sons of Dennis Darling:  John, Cornelious, Daniel, Benjamin, Ebenezer.  Two test from each branch would identify any unique STR or SNP markers for that line.  Have at least two Bensons SNP tested.

6.  SNP test closely matched Daly / Daily matches to determine if they are related to Dennis Darling.

7.  Identify the private SNPs that are unique to the identified Darling / Benson / Daily branches.

8.  Determine the private SNP that would identify the Most Recent Common Ancestor for each branch.

9.  Create a SAPP (Still Another Phylogeny Program) tree with STR, SNP and traditional genealogy research.

10.  Match identified most recent common ancestor for each branch with unique private SNP for that branch.

11.  From the above research, determine if it is possible to uniquely identify Dennis Darling's private SNP, and John Daly's, if they are related.

12.  Determine if there is a link between Dennis DarlingJohn Daly and if there is a private SNP to identify the two.

13.  Identify a descendant of John Daly of Mendon, Mass.

14.  Determine if George Darling of Salem / Lynn, Massachusetts was related to Dennis Darling.

15.  Determine a most likely point of European origin for Dennis Darling.  Attempt to use traditional genealogical research techniques to link him to a family line.
