Many Coomer genealogy researchers have hit a brick wall in Stokes County, NC, USA. My GGG Grandfather was born in Stokes County abt 1821; however, I do not know the names of his parents or siblings. Coomers have been in what is now the USA since the mid 1600s. There are at least 3 Coomer immigrants prior to 1700. There are several Coomer immigrants after that from Wales, Germany, and England. There was a Coomer in the "French and Indian" war, and in every war since then. There was a Coomer woman who married a Mayflower passenger. But many records have been destroyed during the Civil War. Are we related?
