The main goal of this Combs I-M223 surname project is to procure multiple direct Combs male descendants from each of the lines of John, William & Mason Jr and their descendants to YDNA test to the Big Y 700
level. By doing so we aim to map each line with YDNA documentation as well as provide answers to those with Non Paternal Events (NPE's such as illegitimacy, adoption or the taking of their mothers surname)
in their trees that have provided roadblocks to them from researching beyond a certain point and not knowing how they fit into the whole picture. The Big Y 700 places testers in terminal branches on the Haplogroup
tree. If we are able to ascertain testers with well documented lines of the 8 brothers and their uncles. Those currently that are undocumented and those future testers that are undocumented will be able to see
by way of the Big Y 700 test if they fall within a certain branch therefore narrowing the amount of Combs males that may have fathered their line.
