The Cline Surname Project was originally intended to determine relationships among male descendants of Pieter Klein who, according to written records, was born in Alsace/Lorraine region of Prussia [currently a region of France] in 1575. Pieter's descendants came to the US and settled in PA and NC before westward migration. Today, Pieter's descendants in the United States are predominately located in PA, OH, WV and NC.
