Welcome to the Cherokee DNA Project:

This project is for those who have a documented Cherokee ancestor on either their direct paternal or direct maternal line. We accept all with documented ancestors regardless of current affiliation. The project is also open to those who come from the Cherokee Freemen.

Please note that almost no federally recognized tribes including the Cherokee accept DNA as proof of ancestry for tribal membership.
