My mother's father is WP Cheek (born 1918 in Dallas Co Missouri), I have traced his line back to Jeremiah Cheek (born 1765 North Carolina). I am in the process of having my mother's brother perform yDNA testing for this line.

Hello, Rebecca here. This is my great-grandma's kit I'm managing for her. She should be about 12.5% Martha Ann Cheek (1830-1890), who married Elder Abner Jackson Farthing. Her gedmatch number is A618366. I'm slowly teasing apart her 100k matches at ancestry to verify which Cheek line she's from, but this is what I have so far. I found a will referencing a daughter of John Cheek as the wife of Abner J Farthing (which is my Martha).

It turns out I am not a Lewis historically, I found a name change to Scribner in the early 1800's after a divorce. Did yDNA12 to confirm and it did, I am related to a few male Scribners. That said, I am apparently related to a lot of Cheek/Chicks as well... the quest continues, yDNA37 in process, awaiting results.
