Its been a few months since our last update, and we now have gotten results back for some project members. Starting with 849062, their results confirm a connection to Carroll, Akins, Hunt, Scanlon, Callarman, Smith, Dolan, and Dixon lines. His Y-DNA results don't pertain to the project but we're providing assistance interpreting. 833104 results confirmed their connection to the Hunt line. 573421 Y-DNA results confirmed on the Sterri line that Peder Iversen and Nels Iversen our brothers. Finally, 796048 confirmed his connection to the Dixon line and gave the project a predicted haplogroup of I-M223, the Big Y upgrade is planned for the Holiday Sale. The Dixon results were interesting since we were predicting R-U198+, but came back I-M223, this was due to faulty research. We learned that William C Dixon's father is Jubal, and we are working on confirming his grandfather's parents, this is shown in project goals.

Big Y Results are in for 542473, confirming T-M70 and the downstream SNP T-Y13742. We are now looking to expand the T tree and we will be actively recruiting paternal descendants of the Danish priest, Jens Jensson Thisted to expand the phylogenetic T Tree. In the next month expect response times to be lower as we are to going Ireland for research purposes.

Big Y results are in for 580414, confirming R-DF17 and the downstream SNP R-FGC14114. R-DF17 Haplogroup is still rather unexplored and we are looking forward to learning more the Haplogroup and its sub branches

I would like to welcome 542473 to the project, he will be helping the project confirm the Sterri Hapolgroup of T-M70. We are looking forward to his Big Y results in a few months.

In a little over a year, this project will soon have the foundation for 6 of the 16 surnames that we are focusing on.

Over the weekend, 2 of the project's brick walls started to crumble. Results came back for 714916, his results concluded we have found the right Catherine Dolan. We now have more confidence that Peter's parents are John Dolan & Margaret Weir instead of John Dolan & Mary McDonald. We will be making more research requests with The Archdiocese of Cincinnati to learn more about John Dolan & Margaret Weir. The other brick wall relates to the Hunt line and its an interesting story. Summer 2016, I reached out to my dad's 2nd cousin, 623111, whom told me stories of her sister's pen pal Eddie Parsons. Little did I know, Eddie Parsons would be the key to the James J Hunt brick wall. Fast forward to Fall 2017, we made contact with Eddie's grandson Tommie Parsons, and after learning some new information I was able to find a cousin that was interested in getting a DNA test. Those DNA results from Sharon Giesen came in during the weekend, which now gives us the confidence that Martin Hunt & Ellen Casey are the parents of James J Hunt.

Big Y results are in for 714916, his results are A-260+, interesting enough his haplogroup FGC5939 is the brother of BY13838 which is where the project's Carroll line descends from.  Big Y results for 580414 are predicted to be ready February 2018. 

11/12/17

Early results are in for 580414, the results are predicting R-M269 with his DNA matches being descendants of R-DF17. Planning on ordering Big Y when the holiday sale begins in a few weeks.

Stilling waiting for results for 714916, Big Y is currently being delayed due FTDNA upgrading to Hg38

Results are in for 755986 and the results confirmed Sarah J Drake (1843-1871) is the sister of Henrietta Drake (1836-1873).

We will soon learn more about our Hunt line, 580414 initial Y-DNA results are due in December

Finally, we would like to welcome 785771 to the Project, his results will be used to see if we tracked the correct Catherine Dolan (Peter Dolan's Sister)

Big news of the last 5 months, we can now confidently say France Eck's (1876-1938) parents are Nicholas Eck (d. 15 Dec 1908 Chicago, IL) & Catherine (d. 26 Apr 1879 Chicago, IL). Thanks to 3 ancestry DNA matches (Wendy Swatnicki, Eleanor Milligan, and Linda Maracic). Knowing the parents of Frances Eck will make it easier to find a possible Eck to be tested, hopefully during the Holiday Season.

After reviewing several newspaper obituaries, we are now confident we have found the correct Gibas line from Zywiec, Poland, and we will be looking forward to have a Gibas Y-DNA tested in the near future.

Callarman Big Y Results for 600295 listed as R-BY20272

Would like to welcome 714916 to the project, his DNA results confirm his connection to Peter Dolan (1851-1916). The STR results are predicting M-222 and possibly R-BY3338. Big Y Results due at the end of October to Mid November.

Would also like to welcome 755986 to the project, her DNA results will be compared to 623625. This is a test to see if 755986 is a maternal descendant of Henrietta Drake's sister. MtDNA results due in November

Since the last update in January we have now received majority of the DNA results from the Holiday Season

Starting with the Callarman results, 600295 and 603181 matched 64/67 markers confirming Uriah Wilson Callarman and Daniel Ketchum Callarman are brothers. The project is now in the process of searching for John 1:1 parents by reviewing all possible theories. 600295 expecting his big Y results to be ready in May.

623625 results confirm her connection the Callarmans and provides us with a narrower search area. 623625 MtDNA haplogroup is K1c2 which will be useful in the search of Henrietta Drake's mother. The project is also working on finding a potential DNA candidate to confirm Henrietta Drake's mother.

607194 DNA results confirm her connection to the project while also providing 140 matches to investigate further relating to the Callarman, Dolan, Dixon, Martin, and Burris.

Since January we are now confident we have found Laura Dixon's parents, we believe them to be Francis M Dixon and Alice Martin of Franklin County, Missouri

Happy New Year,

The project had a very successful holiday season, we welcome four new members: 607194, 623111, 623625, and 629539. 607194 DNA results will track down more Dolan cousins and possibility help with the search of Laura Dixon’s parents. 623111 DNA results will help in separating matches for John J Hunt & Bridget Scanlon. 623625 MtDNA results will be helpful in the search of Henrietta B Drake parents, and could link the project to the New Netherlands families of America.  

600295 DNA kit was received by the lab, and the projected dates for results are 2/15/17-3/01/17

574521 DNA results confirmed the project’s link to the Dolan family of St Louis, and gave two strong DNA matches to investigate further

581959 DNA results are very interesting, they don’t completely rule out Mathias Eck (1860-1949) of being the father of Frances Eck. Even though 581959 didn’t match 558723 on Family Tree DNA, it turns out they match 70.2 Cm over 15 chromosomes at gedmatch.com. Further testing is being considered since Frances Eck is predicted to be the daughter of Mathias Eck’s first wife who remains unknown. Since, 558723 is from the first wife and 581959 is from the second wife the process of comparing DNA is a little more changeling so, maybe a great uncle/aunt will get past the threshold.

Big Y results are back for 558723, P-312+ but, is negative for all known downstream SNPs including L21, DF27, and U152. Alex Williamson's Big Y Tree is predicting a ZZ12 Haplogroup for the Cwiklik Surname

Our new member 574521 is awaiting family finder results that will help locate cousins for Peter Dolan (1851-1916) & Margaret Dunn. 574521 results may also help solve a couple brick walls associated with Peter Dolan and the Dunn Family.
581959 has also joined our project, we are waiting on her family finder results to confirm her link to Frances Eck (1876-1938)

The first batch of Cwiklik results are predicting R-M269, Big Y is ordered and expecting results to be uploaded in the middle of January

The Sterri from Hafslo, Norway have a predicted Haplogroup of T-M70

We will be finding out more about the Cwiklik surname in a couple weeks as, we got our 1st Y-DNA test into the Lab
