Around the 1500s, a few individuals, residing primarily in Wiltshire, began signing birth, marriage, and death records with the surnames ‘Butler alias Rawlings’ and ‘Rawlings alias Butler.’ The living descendants of these individuals now bear the surnames Butler and Rawlings. The purpose of this project is to study the origins, history, and genetics of these families.
