Situated at the head of Buckle Swamp and Livingston Creek on the north edge of the Bogue is the Native American community of Buckhead. Located in Columbus County North Carolina, the community is home to the Waccamaw Indians, one of three Native American communities found on the Southeast side of the Cape Fear River.
