The purpose of this project is to use DNA evidence to help identify the various Bruff lines of descent.

Goals of the project:

• Assist members with understanding their DNA results

• Group and analyze Y-SNP and Y-STR results

• Investigate surname origins and migration paths

• Identify common ancestors and paternal lineages

Male members with the project surname should order a Y-DNA test: Y37, Y111, or Big Y. If you are unsure of which test to order, please email one of the project administrators.
Female members should ask a male relative who carries the project surname to take a Y-DNA test.
We encourage all members to take a Family Finder test or transfer autosomal results from another company.
