About us
Gareth Henson and Lucy Nelson volunteered to manage the project on 23 October 2024.
The surname Bruff is rare; it shows up in England, Australia (one English immigrant), Jamaica (English and American immigrants) and United States (multiple English immigrants). This project may tell us if all Bruffs share a common ancestor. This will justify the time needed to discover the paper trail that will connect the families. The group administrator traces her Bruff line back to Thomas Bruff who immigrated to Maryland, Colonial America, in about 1670. Other Bruffs arrived from England in the 1770s and 1800s. Some Bruffs went from America to Jamaica. One American Bruff went back to England in 1778.
The project has just begun as of 18 Jul 2006.
