The "Brazilian Founders" project welcomes all male and female descendants whose ancestors are historical personalities and have been generating vast descendancy in Brazil through the diverse geographical areas of the country. 

The “Brazilian Founders” project may be able to overcome some of the members genealogical “missing block” at their genealogy tree, as well as making new connections with cousin’s descendants form the same historical figures. Thus, finding as many genetic Y-DNA / mt-DNA matches as possible to help with their genealogical research. Our focus is genetic genealogy to support the classical recorded documental genealogy. The project may accept Y-DNA from males with a potential patrilinear Y chromosome from a well-known historical person. The same applies for their spouses. The project may accept mt-DNA from anyone with an matrilinear mt-DNA line of a known female figure or her spouse. Family Finder results are also accepted to guide the members as well. 

The group members must set "Administrator settings" to at least "Limited" to participate in the "Brazilian Founders" project. 

The tab “surnames” comprises the key words for research as well as the family names of the personalities we may focus the research process. Locating your name at the tab does not necessarily indicate that your ancestors came from the lineages of the historical figures listed. Please contact one of the administrators if you have any questions and/or suggestions.
