About us

The origin of the name Bohan is linked to France and Ireland, and it is thought that at least one of the Bohan families in Ireland descends from a family by that name or something similar in France. There is a Bohan family in France that has constructed an 800-year genealogy linked to the town of Bohan on the Belgium/French border. There has also been some suggestion of a link between one of the Bohan families in Ireland and the de Bohun family that arrived in England and Ireland with the Norman invasions of those countries, in AD 1066 and AD 1185, respectively.
