Welcome to the Bibee-Biby-Bybee  Y-DNA Surname project.  Any male with any of the many variations of the surname listed above is invited to participate in this project.  The project was set up on July 11, 2013.  This project is in its infancy but already has three participants, one in each of the surnames Bibee, Biby and Bybee who live in the United States and are tightly related.  Outline pedigrees for all the project participants will eventually be found on the results page. 

Since this is a Y-DNA project it will only tell you about your direct male line, that is, your father, your father’s father, your father’s father’s father, and so on back in time.  To participate in this project you should be a male with one of the surnames listed.  If you believe there is a Bibe, Bibee, Bibey, Biby, Byba, Bybe, Bybee  or a variant in your direct male line, although you have a different surname, you are also welcome to participate.  If you are a female, you will need to ask your brother, father, uncle, cousin or other male relative to take a test on your behalf.  Although the 37-marker test is usually sufficient to confirm matches within a genealogical timeframe, you may want to consider the 67 or 111 marker Y-DNA test for more clarity in your genetic line.
