This DNA project centralizes, connects, informs, & assists the genealogy for surname Bergeron (or variants), & is wide open to interested members. DNA tools of autosomal & Y-DNA have clarified relatedness and lineage pedigrees tremendously. In promoting DNA testing for genealogy & trying to keep research as up-to-date as possible, we follow the ISOGG (International Society of Genetic Genealogy). Expectations are 1. to provide name & a date of an earliest surely-known ancestor in your line, 2. to maximize connectedness with an autosomal test, then put in Gedmatch.com so not limited to one testing company, 3. to attempt maximized Y-DNA testing on a male in each distinguishable lineage, & 4. to support others' DNA testing for genealogy.
