This project is a continued effort to trace the family tree for my surname ( Berezik ). Family had migrated from Lesko Poland then a part of the Austrian-Hungary Empire known as Galicia circa 1890 arriving in New York aboard the SS Scandia operated by the HPAG. It is known the Berezik's moved from the area of L'viv, Ukraine to Lesko circa 1780-91. Various spellings of the family name have been documented as Berezik, Bereza, and Berezick. The later name Berezick was most likely a one time spelling error in Strawn, Texas. Church records at St. Barbara of Thurber and St. John's of Strawn also in Texas had other spellings written in error by the parish priest.
