For individuals who may be descendants of Batavian Auxiliary Troops of the Roman Army in Britain and the low countries of Europe. The Netherlands, Austria, Hungary, Spain and Romania to name a few places where these Elite Troops were utilized. The Batavii were used in Britain from AD 47 to until the Romans pulled out in the 5th century.The Batavii tribe was indigenous to the Netherlands and were a sub tribe of the Chattii who were also a sub tribe of the Saxon. The Cananefates also lived on Betuwe or Batavii Island and served in the Roman army throughout Europe and England, and were closely related to the Batavii.
