About us

To assemble those persons who may have been descendants of Roman Auxiliary Troops called Batavians during the first couple centuries AD in Britain and across Europe. These troops were of an ancient Germanic people who were related to the Saxons and were indigenous to the Rhine Delta area of the Netherlands. Individuals and clans considered to be Border Reivers in Scotland and England. Other tribes related to the Batavi were the Chatti and the Cananefates, the latter also serving in the Roman Auxiliary as did the Frisii.
