William Barden emigrated to Plymouth Colony in 1638 and married Deborah Barker in Marshfield, Mass. They had thirteen children and lived in Marshfield, Barnstable and Middleborough, Mass.

James Bardens married Mehitabel Clap in 1717 at Medfield, Mass. They had eight children and lived in Medfield and Walpole, Mass. Many of James’ descendants use the surname Bardeen.
